Program ArSiVi

Hello,

I am working on a VM that was setup for me, and I recently had the sysadmin make sure to give me full admin rights or so I thought he did. I can see that my user account is a member of Administrators. I have also turned UAC all the way down. But nag screens/pop ups still are there at times. I am going to talk to a sysadmin tomorrow to see if I do have full admins rights. My question is, is there an alternative to VBScript I could use? I know a few other languages (most notably Python). Would alternatives still be subject to these weird Permission issues? I mean, any program that installs to the OS should be able to write to/modify/add items to the Start Menu folder, right? What am I missing here?

Any help will be apprecited.
