Forum - Cortex only runs program when connected computer

Our programs only run when the cortex is connected to the computer by the orange USB cable. When we disconnect the cable the cortex flashes orange lights and never starts the program when we turn on the power switch. We have updated teh firmware and the computer says the cortex has the lastest version of firmware. Colud the problem be low battery? We have the same problem on all 18 cortex's.
Any help will be apprecited.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
